Dr. James Rau Memorial Scholarship

Dr. James Rau was a beloved physician who practiced medicine in Alvin beginning in 1957. He practiced for 28 years. As a general practitioner during this bygone era, he delivered babies and made house calls. Dr. Rau was a stellar member of the Alvin community supporting many organizations and was a member of the Brazoria County Medical Society and life member of the Academy of Family Physicians. His interests expanded well beyond medicine and into banking, real estate, cattle ranching, education and philanthropy. The student receiving this scholarship should exemplify scholastic achievement and plan on pursuing a career in the medical field. (for AHS)
